Does BevMo! really support Women's rights?
BevMo! is owned by Gopuff
GoPuff has recently announced it will provide travel-related reimbursement up to $3,000 per medical plan year for employees and dependents enrolled in our medical plans who cannot access reproductive health care within 100 miles of their home. However, the company has also donated $50,000 to the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) In February 2022. This organization has been playing a central role in undermining abortion rights across the country.
The hypocrisy of abortion as a corporate perk
While corporate policies that cover out-of-state travel expenses for an abortion may benefit some people, there are problems with this approach. Depending on how the policies are implemented, employees may have to sacrifice their privacy to take advantage of the travel benefit. Some employees, such as single parents or those responsible for the care of an elderly relative, may not have the flexibility to travel.
